Looking For A Church Home?

Whether you are visiting with us for church, are a newcomer to the island or a longtime neighbor... know that you are welcome at Trinity Lutheran Church.

We are a group of imperfect people who are grateful to be held in God's grace... a family of believers seeking to grow in God's love and to share that love through living intentional Christian lives.

We are a congregation that has grown from about 60 people over a decade ago, to nearly 1,100 people today. Trinity is part of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, but nearly half of our members come from other faith traditions.

Our communion table is open to all people. Our hospitality is meant for all as well. If we can answer any questions, help you on your journey of faith, minister to you in crisis, and celebrate with you life's special occasions, please call upon our pastoral staff. We are here to serve.

A couple from Trinity wrote the following letter to new friends in their neighborhood in order to provide a "snapshot" of what Trinity is like.

Dear neighbor,

When we moved to South Whidbey we left behind our old community and many years of friendships. We were also leaving the church we had been at for several years. We found ourselves in a neighborhood of people we did not know.

We decided to find a new church and started searching. We visited Trinity Lutheran in Freeland, and like a good restaurant, the parking lot was nearly full (a good sign). The pastors were warm and inspiring, the people were friendly. There were Sunday school rooms full of children. We decided that we need look no further.

Soon we were attending the Adult Forum discussion series, small dinner groups, and had the opportunity to serve on committees. We met people, made new friendships, and were taught and inspired by the worship service.

We are not comfortable knocking on doors saying 'Hi we are you new neighbors and would like to invite you to church,' but decided that we would like to share our experience of moving here and finding Trinity Lutheran Church.

We realize you may already have a church or denomination you are involved with, or perhaps are not interested in attending church, but we are so pleased with the community we have found at Trinity, that we wanted to extend an invitation to you.

Worship services are: 5 p.m. Saturdays ( a smaller, casual service) and on Sundays at 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 a.m.

Sunday worship at 11:00 a.m.has contemporary music, while the 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. services are more traditional. Sunday school and the Adult Forum are at 9:30 a.m.

The Adult Forum and Sunday School for the kids takes a break for the summer, but resumes in the Fall. There are coffee hours after each Sunday worship services year round, and this is an excellent place to make new friends.

Sincerely,

The Kukuk's
